NYFW: Inside the Tent Style

I loved the volume of this young lady's dress (and I was brave enough to ask for a picture from the front, too!).

NYFW: Pamella Roland

Here are a few of my favorite looks from the Pamella Roland Spring/Summer 2010 collection.

NYFW: TRESemmé Booth and Girl Crush Rachel Bilson

My dad made fun of me for this photo, but I've never claimed to be a paparazzi. Rachel Bilson was absolutely stunning though in her Diane Von Furstenberg dress that was tailored beautifully. She has the shiniest hair ever. I didn't get close enough to ask if she actually uses TRESemmé, obviously.

NYFW: A Pair in the Crowd

Saw these girls in the front row at Brian Reyes and then again on the street. I love the cut of that black dress and the bright blue pumps. Sorry I was too shy to stop them for a proper shot.

NYFW: Brian Reyes Crowd

There was a pretty nice crowd at the show! Click for a larger image and see who's sitting next to Elle Magazine's Joe Zee.

NYFW: Brian Reyes

I was super excited to get a chance to see Brian Reyes's Spring Summer 2010 collection--especially since I didn't send an invite request early enough to garner an actual invite. Apparently he's all the rage, and maybe my opinion will change, but I wasn't crazy about the collection. There were some elements I enjoyed, and I wonder where/if they'll find their way into my own Spring wardrobe: Chartreuse, Sweetheart Necklines, Double-Breasted Blazer paired with Short Shorts, Black Mesh Sheer Cut-Out Detail. Here are the final looks.

NYFW Professionally Crush Worthy: Carine Roitfeld and Lauren Santo Domingo

Another sighting that literally left me shaking, Ms. Carine Roitfeld and Ms. Lauren Santo Domingo. I felt bad pestering them for a picture, but they were absolutely flawless. I thanked them and Ms. Roitfeld had a polite 'merci' for moi aussi.

NYFW Professionally Crush Worthy: Kate Lanphear

I had a wonderful time in New York this week. The Independent Fashion Blogger Dress Up Soiree was a great success, and I made it to a few shows and TopShop. I did not buy the Ashish wedges, and I'm still thinking about them. I couldn't justify spending that much money on shoes right now though.

The best part of NYFW by far? Spotting Kate Lanphear. She is flawlessly beautiful in person. So chic, AND she was really nice. I asked her to take a photo, and she waited patiently while all kinds of people walked in front of me. I told her that I was a huge fan of her work, and she told me I was sweet! Ok, not groundbreaking dialogue, but she is my absolute idol, and I'm proud of myself for talking to her and getting decent pics. I didn't get her shoes, but check out the bracelets.

Quickie!

Quickie from Photobooth--what I'm wearing today. Getting it all in before Labor Day. Do you obey the "No white shoes after Labor Day"rule?

Good enough for me!

I have been obsessed with messanger style purses. I got a great one for Christmas last year, but when it arrived, it ended up being much smaller than what I had pictured, so I've been keeping my eyes peeled since.

It may not be these, but it's good enough for me.

The OUTNET Going, going, gone sale!

Have you experienced a Going, Going, Gone sale? It's amazing and nerve wracking. I'm watching a Marc by Marc navy blue bag right now. The sale set up is kind of a reverse auction. As you watch, the price slowly drops--you have to snap it up before it's sold out though! I watched a Chloe wallet get down to $200 without making a move and POOF! All gone. So this purse is superb and I'm a little in love because I've been mixing navy blue and black a lot lately, and I like how this would mix in with my black pieces.

The best part of the web site though? The BOSS button!
Boss coming? Click the BOSS button and get this!
Good for the Friday LOLs.
EDIT: The lucky shopper who got this was not me. Probably better anyway as I don't have $268.76 to spend on a purse right now!

Hooray for Happy Hour!

I know a lot of people will say, "Not another sample sale site!" but Happy Hour is different. How? They offer original content relating to the feautured designers. Pretty cool. Buzzed Weekly is their weekly ezine, and definitely worth perusal.

I kind of love it for the same inexplicable reason I always buy People Style Watch.

Ok, but to blog about this immediately upon hearing about the site from a little birdy, you know there has to be something else up.

Um... Kara JANX sale? Don't mind if a do! Not to hate on Chloe Daul because I love her, but rumor has it (via wikipedia) that Janx would have won Season 2 Project Runway were she not eliminated in the penultimate challenge. I loved her long flowing dresses a bit, even if her personality was quieter than other contestants (Santino?).

Sign up for Happy Hour and check out the limited Kara Janx sale before 09.08.09.

I've never wanted a comic book so much!!

• Marvel Comics is releasing an eight-page comic book called Loaded Gunn, which features a superhero version of Tim Gunn dressed in an Iron Man suit who saves the day at the "New York Museum of Fashion." One Gunn line: "You know, there are far easier ways to accessorize than grand larceny." [WWD]

I blame the O-Twins

I'm not sure why, but I've been wanting a pair of clogs/mules. I predict clogs will randomly be the next big thing. These are very modern and simple, but a little more than I want to spend right now.

(Jeffrey Campbell Soko Wedge $148 at Urban Outfitters.)

Can't Hardly Wait

(Kimchi Blue Origami Dress $68 at Urban Outfitters.)
While this has been a really great summer, I am so ready for fall. I cannot wait to wear fall clothes--jackets, dresses, tights...
I think this dress would look great with a little cardigan, black tights, and oxford flats. Nice shape, a bit of visual detail, and a decent price.

I went to a Barney's Warehouse Sale when I was in NYC in March--not worth the headache, but check out this article for strategy.
