Piel leather backpack, Leather backpack, Leather - eBay (item 130320943532 end time Aug-01-09 11:29:03 PDT)

I've started going to the gym. Yeah, crazy! I know!

Part of the craziness is that I'm particularly lazy. In that vein, I'm looking for a backpack because carrying all that shoes/clothes/water bottle/lock nonsense is getting heavy.

I'm bidding on this bag on eBay (linked to the title), but I'm not sure what I think. Any suggestions for a leather backpack that isn't $200?

I LOVE Need Supply Co.

First, I love things that sound like general stores. Second, the web site has a nice sparse design. Third, they have a bag similar to the Bottega Veneta one from the Rue La La sale at a fraction of the cost.

Woven duffle by Melie Bianco $98 at Need Supply Co.

Oh yeah, it's also where I got the sandals from my last post!
Asti by Jeffrey Campbell now on sale $89.99 at Need Supply Co.
EDIT: WHOOPS! They're sold out. Size 8 still available in Pewter.

Horrible photo, but...

Maybe my new favorite outfit!

Inspiration: Charlotte Gainsbourg

From Fashionista.com via Google Image search.

Every morning when I get dressed, I wish to project the effortless grace of Charlotte Gainsbourg. I haven't looked as chic as I hope to, but it certainly feels comfortable (jeans, T-shirts, blazers, boots).

From loudersoft.com via Google image search.

Rue La La all the way to the bank!

Holy cow! Must be for these prices! Peeked in to the Rue La La Bottega Venetta sale. It's filled with fabulous leather goods, but how are $1000+ handbags selling out so quickly (within 15 minutes)?

Not a card holder ($169),

coin purse ($199)

or continental wallet ($469)

to be had!

Last count did have one Anthracite Nappa Leather Satchel ($1659), so if you want it, snatch it up before it's gone!

Er...um...I guess I'll just join the waitlist...

Ideeli Poleci sale; the chain necklace tank sold out near immediately despite being a tank top for $109--I guess you have to consider it like the price incldues the necklace. I love this look, but will try to do it at home with various tanktops and necklaces I already own.
I also really like the Black Shoulder Pad Vest, but I can't bear paying $135 for a vest. Maybe if that necklace were a part of the vest...

Alanis Morisette may think this is ironic.

Who What Wear Summer Beauty Board--love it because yesterday I wore the most random outfit with braided pigtails (mostly because my hair was still damp and I'm bored with the low bun I always wear). At first I felt foolish, but today I realize that I'm just au courant!

Unrelated

I just like this picture of Wilson I took. I usually post my random musings, likes, and pictures on my Tumblr.

My Uniform

I don't really post outfits because I feel like I always wear the same thing anyway. This was an amazing day though, regardless of what we wore. Wilson and I went to the New England Aquarium and then had lunch in the North End. I'm posing like this to hide the gelato stain on my T-shirt.

Oh, and this is the kid I'm marrying.

Saying Grace, Winifred Grace, that is.

I never used to wear jewelry, but after getting engaged, and getting used to wearing my ring, I've grow rather accustomed to putting on various bobbles before leaving the house.

A little birdy told me about Winifred Grace, and thank goodness. She includes some of my favorite elements in the above Pacific Opal Multi Strand Bracelet and Pacific Opal Braided Bracelet--a mix of oxidized pacific opal Swarovski crystal rhinestone chains braided with oxidized sterling silver and 14k gold filled chains. I love when bracelets and necklaces have that tangled look, and I'm obsessed with the light turquoise blue.

This braided turquoise necklace also fits the bill. I just wish one or two of the chains hung lose to make it look a little more unkempt.

Push It--Real Good!

(click image to go to online magazine)
One of my first graduate classes was Introduction to Magazine Publishing, and in that course, I learned something that I consider frequently: Another meaning for magazine is a storehouse. I think about it as news reports bemoan the failing print industry and dwindling ad pages, etc. While I will always love physical print editions, online magazines seem very smart and current--and they are a great storehouse option.

I've mentioned Fake Magazine previously, but I didn't have a lot of regular online mag reads until I got a lovely email from Amanda at PUSH iT magaazine, an international style magazine. From her email, "The magazine is also Croatia, Serbia and Bosnia-Herzegovina's 1st International style magazine mixing the best of the Balkans with the rest of the world."

I don't know much about style in these countries, but from what I've seen in PUSH iT, there are a lot of fun, modern streetstyle, and some kicking dance music. Plus, with their third issue, they realize it's time to get Real!

If you're feeling hot and sweaty and can't be bothered to be fashionable at all--take a look at PUSH iT--minus a few navigation hiccups, you won't be sorry. Due check out my favorite section, "Things We Love This Month."

O.M.G. STFU! Srlsy

So I've been notoriously absent from the blog, but I had to take a minute to share the email I just received.

Um, yeah. Remember how I sold mine to Erika? Yeah, I might have to buy another pair and try to learn how to walk in them. (I took two steps and gave up--emailed her and let her know that she could have them for a reasonable agreed upon price.)

tee hee

Remember that time I saw that Anthropologie dress and I was all like whoa that's crazy/cute?

Well I found it on the sale rack and it was still crazy/cute. And so I bought it and put it on myself and voila.

Sorry for the hiatus.

Normal programming to resume once inspiration hits.

Thinking about: What to wear to a courthouse wedding. Mom asked if she should start looking for a vintage Chanel suit. I said no, but...
